Singapore Youth Festival 2009
Singapore National Youth Orchestra Concert
''A Midsummer's Evening''

As part of the Singapore Youth Festival 2009 celebrations, the Singapore National Youth Orchestra presents "A Midsummer's Evening" on Monday 13 July 2009 at 7.30 pm at the Esplanade Concert Hall.

15-year old SNYO violinist, Davin Ang Kai Jie, performs Violin Concerto No. 2, Op. 22 in D minor by Henri Wieniawski. This concert will also premiere "Summer Rhapsody" an SNYO Commissioned Work by Phoon Yew Tien.

The concert programme conducted by Lim Soon Lee will also include Johannes Brahms' Symphony No. 4 in E minor, Op. 98.

The band has been actively participating and performing in events like the Annual Speech and Prize-giving Day, National Day celebration and Teachers' Day celebration. The band participated in the Singapore Youth Festival in 2005 and 2009 and received the bronze award.
